Learn More About Transport Decarbonization
Since 2017, SuM4all has been advocating for sustainable mobility in international forums, with transport decarbonization as one of the four goals for transport systems to achieve globally. Thanks to our 56 member organizations, we have played a pivotal role in framing the policy knowledge around decarbonization and sustainability. This led to recognition by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) as a champion of transport decarbonization in climate change action around the world.
Our engagement at COP27 builds on a series of products:
- Electromobility in the Global South: An Equitable Transition Toward Road Passenger Transport Decarbonization raises questions and issues for policy dialogue focused on the role of electromobility as a solution to decarbonize the transport sector from the unique perspective of the least developed countries in the Global South.
- Sustainable Electric Mobility: Building Blocks and Policy Recommendations analyzes the barriers to electric mobility development, identifies essential building blocks for successful public policies in the field of electric mobility, and provides recommendations for the international development community, and the national and local public policy community.
- Digital Toolkit for Energy and Mobility aims at bridging the gap between the transport and energy sectors. It presents some of the best practices to achieve energy efficiency in transport through new mobility solutions, expansion of public transport infrastructure and planning for integrated multimodal transport networks.
- The Global Roadmap of Action toward Sustainable Mobility (GRA) and the GRA Green Policy Paper proposes a coherent and integrated menu of policy actions and defines a path for countries to follow to achieve the SDGs and climate goals.
- The Global Tracking Framework for Transport (GTF) includes 10 indicators to track countries' progress towards the ‘Green’ goal of sustainable mobility for 183 countries.
